The Defence Research and Development Organisation planned to setup five medical oxygen plants around Delhi in the first week of May. The Funds for the establishment of these plants is being done through PM care Fund and it’s industrial partners are being installed at the AIIMS Trauma Centre and RML Hospitals.
The equipment’s for these two plants at AIIMS Trauma Centre and RML has been supplied by the Coimbatore based Trident Pneumatics Pvt Ltd. These plants will help to overcome the issues of oxygen transplantation to the Covid-19 patients who were in the emergency situation.
These were designed for a flow rate of about 1000 litres per minute. The Council of Scientific and Individual research or CSI ordered 120 MOPs plants through its industries. India is struggling the second wave of coronavirus infection because of which the hospitals in several states are under the shortage of oxygen supply ,which is about to provide the Covid-19 patients.
The Defence Minister said that DRDO soon will setup 500 medical oxygen plants within 3 months in India. Among these 500 plants the first 5 plants will be established in Delhi.
