Punjab government extends Covid curbs till June 15; orders graded relaxations from tomorrow

The Punjab government today extended the lockdown in the state till June 15. However, some restrictions have been eased. Shops are now allowed to remain open till 6 pm, private offices are allowed to function at 50 per cent capacity. Night curfew to remain in force from 7pm-6am on weekdays but regular curfew will continue on Sundays, read the circular from the chief minister’s office. The second wave of the pandemic has now seen a steady drop for four consecutive weeks across the country. Several states and Union territories (UTs) have announced relaxations in curbs, which, in most places, come into effect from today.
