He defended his decision of fleeing from Kabul over Taliban rapid advance, he described his actions as the only way to prevent bloodshed.
He confirmed on his video that currently he is residing in the United Arab Emirates.
He also denied the claims made by his country’s ambassador to Tajikistan that he fled with millions of dollars from state funds. In his video message he thanked the security forces and also stated that the failure of the peace process led to the rise of Taliban.
He also responded to the allegations made by his country’s ambassador that he fled with USD 169 million from state funds, he claimed that he was forced to leave Afghanistan with one set of traditional clothes, a vest and the sandals that he was wearing and the allegations made on him are completely baseless. President Ghani left Afghanistan on Sunday just as the Taliban approached Kabul.
