India Reaches New Milestone With Over 1.09 Cr. Jabs In A Day

India on Tuesday administered more than 1.09 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses which Union health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya hailed as a “ new vaccination milestone”.
More than 65 crore doses have been administered in the country so far, the Union Health Ministry said.
India had achieved the one crore mark for the first time on August 27.
The ministry noted that more than 64.36 crore doses had been provided to the states and the Union Territories so far through the central government’s free-of-cost channel and through the direct procurement category.
It added that nearly 15 lakh doses were in the pipeline and more than 5.42 crore balance and unutilized doses were still available with the States and UTs. States have been given a month’s time to ensure all school staff get at least one dose Covid-19 Vaccine, School Education secretary Anita Karwal said after a meeting with State Education Departments on Tuesday
