Union Minister Piyush Goyal appointed India’s ‘Sherpa’ for G20 meet

The public authority has designated Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textile Piyush Goyal as Sherpa for the G20, supplanting previous Union Minister Suresh Prabhu.

The advancement comes barely a month prior to the following culmination booked toward the finish of October in Rome. While Italy holds the administration of the G20 development, India will hold the administration from December 1, 2022 and will meet the G20 Leaders’ Summit in 2023.

“India has been an individual from the G20 since its beginning in 1999. G20 is a significant worldwide gathering that unites 19 of the world’s significant economies and the European Union, with its individuals representing over 80% of worldwide GDP, 75% of exchange and 60% of populace,” the External Affairs Ministry said in an assertion on Tuesday.
