The state of West Bengal is gearing up for its bypoll elections from Bhabanipur. With CM Mamata Banerjee contesting from TMC. The Congress has decided not to fill a nomination and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Priyanka Tibrewal and CPIM candidate Srijib Biswas also filed their nominations on the last date of filling nominations. The BJP on Tuesday raised the issued on the candidature of the West Bengal chief minister stating she has hidden details about pending criminal cases against her.
The BJP filled a letter to the returning officer of Bhabanipur. In the letter to the officer the chief election agent Sajal Ghosh of Priyanka Tibrewal has said that in paragraph 5(ii) of the following pending criminal case against her.
He pointed out 5 criminal cases against Mamata Banerjee with supporting proof from relevant news reports have been annexed the 5 cases are filled in different places of West Bengal under different sections of IPC. It’s important for West Bengal chief minister to win this election as she was defeated earlier this year and should be member of the state legislative body by the 1st week of November.
