New Delhi: The veteran leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal detained in Delhi over farm protest

Shiromani Akali Dal President, Mr Sukhbir Badal, Party leader Harshimrat Kaur and 11 (eleven) others are detained by the police in Delhi over the issue of protest on the farm laws on Friday, 17th September, 2021. The police also cited a reason that they have not taken the prior permission from the competent authority for initiating the protest. The protest march was launched from the Gurudwara Talebganj Sahib and to the Parliament House. Moreover, they were taken to the Sansad Marg police station and later released. The protest was instituted against the three farm laws introduced by the central government last year.
The Punjab state-based Party, Shiromani Akali Dal observed ‘September 17’ as the black day to mark the day of one year of enactment of farm laws. Assuming the launch of the protest march, the Delhi traffic police keeping in view of the public order closed the Jharoda Kalan Border beforehand. A concrete safety protocol and measures have been maintained, the proper barricade was done and also heavy police contingents were deployed in order to maintain the law and public order.
