India sees fewer than 20,000 daily cases of Covid, for the first time since March

A total of 18,795 new cases of Covid were registered in 24 hours, while the death toll from the viral disease rose to 4.47,373 with 179 more deaths, the lowest level in 193 days, according to data from the ministry, updated to 8 am.

The number of new coronavirus cases fell below 20,000 (18,795) in India after 201 days on Tuesday, bringing the country’s COVID19 count to 3.36.97.581, while the number of active cases fell to 292,206, the lowest in 192 days, according to the Union Ministry of Health.

The number of daily deaths on March 19 was 154. The number of active cases has dropped to 292,206, 0.87 percent of the total, the lowest since March 2020, while the national recovery rate from COVID19 it was recorded at 97.81 percent, the highest since March last year, the ministry announced.

 There was a decrease of 7,414 cases in the number of active COVID19 cases within 24 hours.

Less than 50,000 cases are reported in the country daily for 93 consecutive days, the ministry said.

 Likewise, on Monday 13,21,780 tests were carried out to detect the infection, raising the total of these tests carried out in the country to date to 56,57,30,031.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.42 percent. In the last 29 days, it was less than three percent.

 The weekly positivity rate was 1.88 percent. According to the ministry, it has been below three percent for the past 95 days.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3:29: 58,002, while the death rate was 1.33 percent.

 The cumulative number of vaccine doses administered in the country to date as part of the nationwide COVID19 vaccination campaign has exceeded $ 87 million, with more than 1 billion doses administered in a 24-hour period.

India’s COVID19 count exceeded 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16 to 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and the One crore brand on December 19 last year.

The ministry emphasized that more than 70 percent of the deaths were due to comorbidities.

 “Our figures are being cross-checked with the Indian Council for Medical Research,” the department said on its website, adding that a government distribution of the figures is subject to further review and approval.
