Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission on Monday, 27th September, 2021. This mission was launched with an objective to provide a digital Id to the citizens and that will contain their health records.
Currently, this mission of Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission in its initial phase is being implemented in the six union territories of India. The nationwide roll-out of this mission has got coincides with the National Health Authority celebrating its third anniversary of the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojna.
This mission will create a seamless online platform through the medium of a wide range of data, information and infrastructure. There have been also taken proper measures while ensuring security, confidentiality and privacy of health-related personal information. There came a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office where officials have said, “It will enable access and exchange of longitudinal health records of citizens with their consent”.
The key facilities of Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission include a health Id for every citizen which will also work as the health account, to which personal health account can be linked and viewed using the mobile application. This will also facilitate the business of the doctors, hospitals and healthcare service providers.
This mission will act as a way to unite all the citizens and will also help in digitalising the Indian health sector which in its own way will strengthen the medical infrastructure of the country.
