Bengal Extends Covid Curbs Until October 30; allows people to move around at night during Durga Puja

“Continuing with the previous order, the restrictive and flexibilization measures already in force are extended until October 30 …With a view to the following holidays, the aforementioned restriction on passenger and vehicle traffic will be relaxed between 11:00 pm and 5:00 am from October 10 to 20, “says the order.

The West Bengal government extended the current Covid19 restrictions until October 30 on Thursday, but allowed people and vehicles to move at night during the Durga Puja festival starting in October 1020, according to an order. Durga Puja is celebrated on October 10-15, while Lakshmi Puja is celebrated on October 20.

 In view of the festival, the government has made an exception to the night curfew due to the large number of people in puja pandas during the night. visit Kolkata and other places.

In view of the holidays that follow, the aforementioned restriction on passenger and vehicle traffic will be relaxed between 11:00 pm and 5:00 am from October 10 to 20, “says the order.

 However, the government has decided not to allow local traffic to operate even though Metro Railway trains would continue to operate

 The order takes effect on October 1.
