West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee wins Bhabanipur by record margin

Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal was recently defeated by her rival politician Mr Suvendu Adhikary in the Nandigram constituency but she came stronger with full strength in Bhabanipur bypolls and won the election with huge margin on Sunday, 3rd October, 2021. This victory came against her political rival, Priyanka Tibrewal of the Bharatiya Janata Party, whereby the result of this bypolls secured the Chief Ministerial seat of Ms Mamata Banerjee and would also allow her to be the member of State Legislative Assembly.

Ms Mamata Banerjee in her statement to the media personnels said, “The numbers of voters at Bhabanipur are relatively less and about 1.15 lakh votes were polled this time. This time we have won by a margin of 58,832 votes”.  Adding to that Chief Minister also said that this result will surely encourage her and the Party to work better and more for the people of the State of West Bengal.

Ms Banerjee has continuously represented the Bhabanipur constituency since 2011. In 2021 Assembly election, the TMC candidate, Mr Sobhandeb Chattyopadhyay had defeated BJP candidate, Mr Rudranil Ghosh by a margin of 28,790 votes. After a landmark win for Mamata Banerjee, Mr Sukanta Majumdar, the newly appointed state chief for BJP Party have also congratulated the CM for her win at Bhabanipur and also thanked those voters who voted for BJP.
