The BJP responded heartily to the suggestion made by now-former Chief Minister of Punjab state to become an ally of the Bharatiya Janta Party as the upcoming assembly polls come closer.

The BJP has made statements lauding the leader and asserted that the party has its doors open for those willing to put national interest ahead of anything.

Calling Captain a patriot, BJP has given more power to the ongoing speculations in regards to him joining the ruling party.

BJP general secretary and party in-charge of Punjab affairs Dushyant Gautam said Singh, who has announced that he will quit the Congress and launch a party, is moving away from the dynasty and towards nationalism.

“He is patriotic. And whenever it was a matter of national security and security at the borders, we have appreciated his stand,” Gautam said, adding that nationalists are not “untouchables” to the BJP. It is apparent that the political scenario of the state of Punjab is going to be in headlines constantly still. With Navjot Singh Sidhu accepting back his post as the Chief of Congress in the state and Amarinder Singh hinting at joining the BJP, the debacle continues.
