Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh (UP), senior Congress leader and the head of party’s campaign in the state Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has announced Congress’ decision of providing citizens with free medical treatment of up to 10 lakh rupees if voted to power.
Priyanka Gandhi took a dig at the Yogi administration in the state and accused it of neglecting medical attention, also mentioning that this has become common knowledge in the times of Coronavirus and the spread of fever.
Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had flagged off the “Pratigya Yatras” with seven promises on behalf of her party, including waiving of loans of farmers and employment of 20 lakh people. The ‘yatras’ were flagged off from Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.
The party has also assured the purchase of wheat and paddy at Rs. 2,500 per quintal and sugarcane at Rs. 400 per quintal.
As for gender equality and women empowerment, party has decided to give 40% of tickets in elections to females. The girls who have passed class 12 are supposed to be provided with smartphones and e-scooters shall be given to female college graduate if Congress is voted to power.
