Coming as a huge relief for Narcotics Central Bureau’s (NCB) zonal officer Sameer Wankhede, the state government of Maharashtra has told the Bombay High Court that he will not be arrested without a prior notice of three days. On the same day, Wankhede has also moved the Bombay High Court seeking interim protection from arrest or any coercive action against him in relation to the alleged corruption and extortion charges levied against him.

Sameer Wankhede had sought an urgent hearing of his case as he filed a petition to contest the state government’s decision of forming a team to investigate into the allegations levied against the NCB officer after megastar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested in a drug case from a cruise attending a rave party.

Maharashtra government had priorly opposed the hearing of his petition but it has now been assured that prior notice will be given to Wankhede before he is arrested.
