India’s services exports can hit $1 trillion by 2030: Goyal

Addressing business leaders at the global services conclave organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) on Tuesday, Goyal said this goal is achievable and needs to be taken up on mission mode.

The minister said that this goal could be taken up on mission mode and businesses could aim for the first goalpost of $500 billion, probably by 2025 or 2026, and should be looking at $1 trillion service exports by 2030. Goyal who also holds the portfolios of consumer affairs, food and public distribution and textiles ministries said that services is a key driver of India’s economic growth, employing nearly 26 million people and contributing approximately 40% to India’s total exports.
