West Bengal: Govt lifts night curfew in two districts.

The West Bengal Government on Tuesday decided and announced that it will lift the night curfew in two districts from 12th November, 2021 to 13th November, 2021 on the eve of Jagadhatri Puja amid covid hours.

Nadia and Hoogly are two districts where the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has decided to lift the night curfew due to the festivals to be observed on the specified dates.

Jagadhatri Puja is an aspect of the Hindu goddess Parvati, who is particularly worshipped in the States of West Bengal and Odisha. According to Hindu mythology, it is said that Jagadhatri is the incarnation of Siddhidhatri. She is also said to be the combined form of Sri Tripura Sundari and Devi Durga.

Most importantly, in Bengal, Jagadhatri Puja is observed as the comeback of the Devi mainly in Chandannagar and Krishnanagar.

Last month, the State government of West Bengal had provided relaxation to many strict restrictions made due to the covid-19 pandemic. Whereby, the govt made the directions allowing all the shops, restaurants and bars to remain open as per the normal operational hours.
