Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intended to expand the jurisdiction of Border Security Force’s (BSF) jurisdiction, a move Mamta Banerjee apparently does not approve of.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal state wrote to the PM for withdrawing the same. It is in response to this that Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Saumitra Khan has said that Banerjee desires to turn the nation of India into a “dharmashala”.
Khan has reasoned Mamta’s opposition to passing of laws like CAA and NRC as the basis for calling her ‘the political mother of all terrorists in India’.
Banerjee is urging the centre to take back the move of increasing BSF’s jurisdiction from 15 kilometres to 50 kilometres of area. Saumitra Khan has been quoted as saying that “She wants to destroy India the same way she had destroyed the state of West Bengal”.
Accusing Banerjee of not believing in the states and not following the rules of the assembly, Khan has been highly critical of Mamta’s resistance towards centre’s “zero tolerance” policies against terrorism.
