Street Vendors Without ID Cards Not To Operate In Kochi From December 1: Kerala High Court

The Kerala High Court has coordinated the Kochi Enterprise to require prompt steps to actualize the Street Vendors (Security of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 for the recovery of road merchants inside its limits.

 Considering that the Organization has issued personality cards to over 700 qualified road merchants as of now, and was within the prepare of following the rest, Justice A.K Jayasankaran Nambiar ordered:

 The Court will take this case once more on 3rd December. The solicitors, sellers by calling, had moved the Court looking for discharge of vehicles, merchandise/fruits and other associated articles seized and taken into guardianship by the respondents and to abstain from taking any activity in infringement of Road Merchants (Security of Business and Direction of Road Distributing) Act.

 A arrangement of petitions in this respect is pending before the Court. Case Title: Rajesh R & Ors. v. Wellbeing Auditor, Municipal Corporation of Kochi & Ors.
