Sabrimala Halal Jaggery Row : Kerala High Court

The Kerela High Court on Monday issued a notice to State food Safety Department , asking to file an affidavit about how Halala certified jaggery is used for preparation of prasadam and nivedyam in Ayappa Swaminathan temple .

Court sought a response from food safety department in a plea seeking directions to respondents to ensure that only Satwik raw maaterials be used and served to the deity at sabrimala temple .

This matter will be taken up again on Wednesday , during the proceeding petitioner filed a reply statement where he said :

A serious violation to tender terms and conditions has taken place by buying halala jaggery for offerings in temple . The petition further reads that halala certified food materials are specifically prepared according to values of another religious community and it is not pure and satwik for a naisthika brahmacharya deity meditating in yoga asana .

Respondents said that it is and intentional and malicious attempt by the petitioner to stale the prasadam and to denigrate the temple ,Also to cause heavy financial loss to the temple board and make allegations causing torpedo effect to temple .
